Pigment makeup tutorial

Author: tEddysWinkLe  May 28th, 2007

As per title… and here are the products I used

[face]
Elianto oil free liquid foundation in 01 Ivory Beige
MAC StudioFix powder foundation in NC30
Silkygirl nectar blusher (on the apples)
Elianto dusty rose blusher (below the apples and slightly on the hollows of my cheek)

[eyes]
~Rayleen’s Sweet Scents Pigments~
…smokey quartz & diamonds… (outer corner)
…peacock & diamonds… (inner corner)
——————————————————
Lancome e/s in Moonlight Beam (middle of eyelid + highlighter)
Elianto e/s in Black Sea (a tad bit in the crease)
Fasio fiber mascara base
Estee Lauder magnascopic mascara *got it from yin*
Elianto perfect liquid eyeliner in Black

[lips]
~Yin’s Lancome Lipgloss~
…bubblegum…

1. Products I used (except for the liquid foundation)

2. Start with a clean moisturized face.

3. Pump out a suitable amount of liquid foundation on the back of your hand.

4. Take out your skunk brush or foundation brush and start swirling it over your face.

p/s I’ve already posted another airbrushed foundation tutorial in the forum months ago, so I would recommend reading that one if you want more detailed foundation info.

5. Done with the liquid

6. And on goes the 2way cake for extra extra coverage because my skin is terrible

7. Draw in your brows. I’m using a pencil one from elianto and it’s really soft and nice to draw on.

8. Dip your eyeshadow brush and catch some pigments.

9. Gently pat it on your lids. Pat. Not sweep. (to give more intense colour)

10. Blend with a blender brush, only on the outer ‘rim’ of your pigment/colour so that the colour doesn’t get washed off too much.

11. Now for the brown pigment. Do the same thing and dip your brush in those piggies.

12. Pat it on again.

13. Blend blend blend and see the outcome. Blend somemore until you’re satisfied and add somemore pigments if you find the colour too washed off.

14. Add some black eyeshadow to the brown pigment part (preferably on the crease) and blend.

15. Pick some white/silver eyeshadow up.

16. Pat it again in between the blue and brown pigments, close to the lash line.

The look so far~~

17. Apply black liquid eyeliner for a more dramatic effect.

My winged part is a little weird though, didn’t use liquid eyeliner in ages.

18. Curl lashes.

19. Mascara base.

20. Black mascara. I find that it’s easier for me to apply mascara, by holding the wand near my lashes, and batting my lashes on the wand instead of the zig-zag motion thingie.

21. Add a highlight to your browbone.

22. Dip your brush in your blusher (lighter colour)

23. Sweep it on your cheekbones

24. Now take a darker contouring/bronzy shade

25. Apply it on the hollows of your cheek. Pat at first to get the colour, then swirl a bit and blend.

26. Lastly lips!!!

The final look

airbrushed-look foundation tutorial

Author: tEddysWinkLe  April 7th, 2007

I just got the Quo ‘imitation’ skunk brush from rayleen. And it really gives a very sheer and smooth application for liquid foundation. Powder foundation or blush goes on really really sheer, and a little buffing gets it smooth.

Items used in this tutorial:
Quo skunk brush
Exuviance liquid foundation (medium coverage)
Estee lauder bronzer
StudioFix powder foundation

Step 1 : Start off with a clean and moisturized face. You can actually use the skunk brush to evenly and lightly distribute moisturizer over your face.

beware of patchy red skin, tonnes of breakouts, and some ugly pimple marks

Step 2 : Pour or pump some liquid foundation on the back of your hand. We might need slightly more than usual because the brush somehow ‘eats’ up the foundation too. o.O

Step 3 : Use your finger to warm up the foundation by lightly smoothing it out on your hand.

Step 4 : Don’t waste the remaining foundation on your finger! I know i’m so stingy~ Dab it on your face, especially areas where you think you might need more coverage.

Step 5 : Swirl and dab your brush in the foundation on the back of your hand.

Step 6 : Buff in circular motion on your face.

p/p/s don’t stand too near the mirror if you’re using this Quo brush. i stood too near and the handle kept knocking the mirror until my mum asked me what happened

Step 7 : Buff somemore if you want to or you think it still isn’t smooth enough.

For more coverage, I suggest you top some powder foundation or 2 way cake on areas which need it.

Step 8 : Gently pat your sponge on your powder pan.

Step 9 : Then pat and smooth the powder on the desired areas.

For a more healthy glow, use a bronzer! This brush applies powder very sheerly as I’ve mentioned above, so the bronzer can’t really be seen.

Step 10 : Swirl your brush in the bronzer pan. Check if you’ve got enough powder on the bristles.

Step 11 : Brush on your cheekbones towards your hairline. Buff if you want to but this will only make the colour even lighter.

Now it’s time to cam-whore and take lots and lots of pictures~ Narcissism rules!

The original tutorial can be found here, if I’ve not mistaken in the February 2006 archive or September 2005 archive.

Products used:

[face]

Shiseido 2 way cake

Estee Lauder bronzer

[eyes]

Silkygirl brow pencil in soft black

Shiseido brown contrast duo e/s

Shiseido pn pink cream e/s

Fasio mascara base

Clarins volumizing mascara

Lancome eye kohl

[lips]

Ettusais pink lipstick

1. Start off with a clean and moisturized face.

IPB Image

2. Wet your sponge and apply powder foundation.

Quote from Xiaxue, “Do it in the direction your facial hair grows.”

IPB Image

3. Massage your face in circular motion. *like washing your face - i find that this makes the powder blend in with your skin better, giving it a more natural effect*

IPB Image

4. Pick up some light gold eyeshadow and apply it to your lids.

IPB Image

IPB Image

5. Next, take some pink eyeshadow (or whichever colour which suits your outfit for the day) and apply it according to the shape of your eye socket.

IPB Image

IPB Image

Like so:

IPB Image

5. Then add some brown eyeshadow for a smokey effect. *dark purple would look great on a night out*

IPB Image

IPB Image

IPB Image

 7. Line your lower lids with a pencil liner and smudge it with your pinky.

IPB Image

8. Curl lashes.

IPB Image

9. Apply mascara base.

IPB Image

10. While waiting for the base to dry up, I draw in my brows first. Only use light strokes at the end of your brows for amore natural effect. You wouldn’t want to end up looking like Shin Chan.

IPB Image

11. Black mascara goes on.

IPB Image

12. Blusher on the apples.

IPB Image

13. Dab some lipstick on your finger, then gently pat it on your lips.

Quote from Xiaxue, “don’t spread it on your lips because it is very dry and will be too thick and pasty. Instead, PAT the lipstick on your lips.”

Done!~

doggy-eyed tutorial

Author: tEddysWinkLe  December 11th, 2006

Hi this is my first post here :) Comments are most welcomed. Enjoy!

Products used:

Face:

Silkygirl 2way cake

Baby Pink cheek jelly in natural pink

KATE concealer

Baby Pink milky base

Eyes:

Ettusais gold pigment stick

Jordana auto-pencil eyeliner

ZA cutie curl volume mascara

Lips:

Silkygirl lipgloss in peach nectar

Tools:

Cyber Colours eyelash curler

1. Wash your face clean, apply moisturizer and lipbalm.

IPB Image

2. Smooth on a primer/base to even out your skintone a little bit and it helps control oil plus your make up stays longer too.

IPB Image

IPB Image

3. Dab on concealer on where ever you want to conceal.

IPB Image
Blend blend blend!

IPB Image
4. Pat on 2 way cake and smooth it with your finger tips to make sure it blends in well with your complexion for a flawless finish.

p/s patting on your powder foundation gives it a lighter and more natural finish

IPB Image

IPB Image

IPB Image

5. Apply gold e/s or pigment onto your eye sockets. (too much will make you look a tad bit like a hooker or drag queen). Blend again.

IPB Image

IPB Image

IPB Image
6. Draw a thick line on your top eyelid with a pencil/liquid liner.

IPB Image

I drew it thicker in the middle to create a ‘cuter’ and rounder eyeshape.

IPB Image

IPB Image

7. Extend the line with the same liner until you’re satisfied. (i draw it until it’s the same length as the front part of my eyes *眼头*)

IPB Image

8. Draw your lower eyeline by connecting the end of your top line to the middle part of your eye.

IPB Image

9. Fill in the space with pencil liner or black e/s.

IPB Image
10. Use the same gold pigment or e/s to draw the front part of your lower eyeline. Blend it again.

IPB Image

11. Curl your lashes from the tip to the root (my style) or from root to the tip (common way).

IPB Image

12. Apply mascara. I apply 1 layer on the bottom part of my top lash, then I apply 1 more layer on the top part in the middle part only (for the cuter eye effect)

IPB Image

12. Apply concealer to mute out your lip colour.

IPB Image

13. Apply lipgloss as usual.

IPB Image

14. Take some of your gel blusher on your fingertip and tap it on the apply of your cheeks.

IPB Image

IPB Image

The higher you apply it, the younger you look. So don’t apply blusher too low unless you’re going for the sexy look.

IPB Image

15. Blend it in.

IPB Image

Pucker up and you’re done with it. Easy?
