Masculine Dressing For Women: The New Trend?
Women are succeeding in the corporate world almost as much as men, and we ladies, definitely do give a men a run for their money. No more MCP nonsense that the wife has to wait at home for hubby, and that hubby is the sole breadwinner of the family.
I have since noticed as well that the trend of empowering ladies are slowly tapping into our fashion sense. We now wear feminine versions of clothes that men used to wear. Some have been existent for a long time, yes, but are now making drastic comeback and appearances in our everyday clothes.
Firstly, the vest:

Even Kate Moss did a vest for her collection for Topshop:

Interesting to see corporate ladies dress up their office wear with the addition of the vest as well.
Then I see the emergence of a feminine-nized version of the bow tie. It usually is just a ribbon around the collar of the shirt, ultra chic when paired with a blazer or coat.
And the latest trend for now, we have the cufflinks:

There’s even a shop in One U now that specializes in cufflinks for both men and women. Plenty of choices, and also a good selection of French cuff shirts.
So ladies, go ahead and ransack your men’s wardrobe and incorporate their items into your dressing, a huge white shirt can be belted into a shirt dress as well.

Pair it with leggings or boots, and you’re set to rock!
Cheers, Lynn
