2008, where are the firecrackers?

Incredible, isn’t it? I remember writing my first post when I was 16, and that was two years ago. Seemed as though I completely blanked on 07 and skipped right on to 08.

It’s a big year for Kuching, with malls popping up like daisies. How about the rest of Malaysia? Well, I won’t know.

But what I do know is that, girls will have whipped out those PDAs or pen and paper, and scribbled down what is known as resolutions. The definition of resolution is: a resolve or determination. I’m sure we were all so determined to start with the resolutions, and hope for the very best that we stick to it. But let’s face it, there’s a lot of articles concerning New Year Resolutions that have been ignored.

Here’s the recap of what you’ve been taught if you wanna keep your resolutions and actually drop a few pounds, be happier or improve something. Like your singing, for example.

And it’s not that difficult, whereas people try to break it down into sections like, keep your goals realistic, blah blah blah.. I’m going to tell you just one secret method which, I’ve yet to try.

I’m joking! I’m a fresh out of middle school kid, jobless and college-less because I’m waiting to serve National Service (I know! Why in this whole country must it be ME?!) before I head off to University. So what do you do, when you have no aim in your life?

You put aim there.

And you make change. You initiate it. Don’t frigging put off what you can do today. Don’t ever say, ‘But there’s nothing I can do about it!’ and give up. Every resolution is a journey, don’t give up! If you’ve been trying to lose some, coporate exercise into your daily regime. And I mean habits. We’re habitual creatures, if you set exercising on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, you better stick to it, cos sooner or later, it will grow on you.

What seemed hard would become easy in a matter of months.

Don’t look at the word ‘months’ and feel that urge to lie on your couch, watch some tv, eat some chips and yawn! Girls, you’re better than that, get off your arse (Or do you want it to transform into a heffer on it’s own?) and do something!

So what do you want again?

A healthier life?
You start eating healthy and exercising, today!
Better makeup skills?
You start practicing, today! And if you’re ever stuck on something (Or want to try something new), here’s a forum for you.
Superb singing? Dancing? Acting?
You start practicing today!
Great culinary and baking abilities?
I’m not going to say it, cos you probably know what I’m going to say. Eventhough you need the right ingrediants, who said you couldn’t buy them today? And make dinner or desert for your family every Saturday (Fridays work too) night? I’m sure they’d be delighted, and on top of that? You’re doing what you wanted.

And the list goes on.

Remember not to start today and then end today. Realize what you want, go for it, stick to it, and you don’t pray for a miracle to happen, you make it happen!

So, tell me girls, what are your resolutions?
