Very basic photoshop tutorial : How to do minor touch-up using photoshop CS

Have pimples? Fine lines or even uneven spots on your face? Here i am going to show you how to do touch-up using Adobe Photoshop CS

I am going to use a picture of myself as example.

Original picture

Now for a start please keep in mind that edit your picture at their highest resolution, then only edit the size later on, the effect is better. For example, my original picture size is 1536 pixel x 2048 pixel, resolution is 300 pixels/inch.

Now i’m going to show you how to start re-touching the face, you can clearly notice there is a pimple between my eyes, select eyedropper tool, click on the closest area to the pimple, but NOT ON the pimple.

You can see the swatch color change as you click on the particular area using eyedropper tool, after that select brush, the brush size is varries depends on the area. (im using basic brush)

I slightly air-brush the pimple area choosing closest color of my skintone.

I apply the same technic to smooth other areas on my skin, such as the fine lines under my eyes, cheeks, and chin, and even neck area.

Now for final finishing touches i always slightly adjust the brightness/contrast level of my photos, that depends on personal taste thou. I like my pictures brighter to make my skin looks fairer, so i brighten it.

airbrushed-look foundation tutorial

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

I just got the Quo ‘imitation’ skunk brush from rayleen. And it really gives a very sheer and smooth application for liquid foundation. Powder foundation or blush goes on really really sheer, and a little buffing gets it smooth.

Items used in this tutorial:
Quo skunk brush
Exuviance liquid foundation (medium coverage)
Estee lauder bronzer
StudioFix powder foundation

Step 1 : Start off with a clean and moisturized face. You can actually use the skunk brush to evenly and lightly distribute moisturizer over your face.

beware of patchy red skin, tonnes of breakouts, and some ugly pimple marks

Step 2 : Pour or pump some liquid foundation on the back of your hand. We might need slightly more than usual because the brush somehow ‘eats’ up the foundation too. o.O

Step 3 : Use your finger to warm up the foundation by lightly smoothing it out on your hand.

Step 4 : Don’t waste the remaining foundation on your finger! I know i’m so stingy~ Dab it on your face, especially areas where you think you might need more coverage.

Step 5 : Swirl and dab your brush in the foundation on the back of your hand.

Step 6 : Buff in circular motion on your face.

p/p/s don’t stand too near the mirror if you’re using this Quo brush. i stood too near and the handle kept knocking the mirror until my mum asked me what happened

Step 7 : Buff somemore if you want to or you think it still isn’t smooth enough.

For more coverage, I suggest you top some powder foundation or 2 way cake on areas which need it.

Step 8 : Gently pat your sponge on your powder pan.

Step 9 : Then pat and smooth the powder on the desired areas.

For a more healthy glow, use a bronzer! This brush applies powder very sheerly as I’ve mentioned above, so the bronzer can’t really be seen.

Step 10 : Swirl your brush in the bronzer pan. Check if you’ve got enough powder on the bristles.

Step 11 : Brush on your cheekbones towards your hairline. Buff if you want to but this will only make the colour even lighter.

Now it’s time to cam-whore and take lots and lots of pictures~ Narcissism rules!
