1. Wash your face clean, apply moisturizer and lipbalm.

IPB Image

2. Smooth on a primer/base to even out your skintone a little bit and it helps control oil plus your make up stays longer too.

3. Dab on concealer on where ever you want to conceal.

IPB Image
Blend blend blend!

IPB Image
4. Pat on 2 way cake and smooth it with your finger tips to make sure it blends in well with your complexion for a flawless finish.

p/s patting on your powder foundation gives it a lighter and more natural finish

5. Apply gold e/s or pigment onto your eye sockets. (too much will make you look a tad bit like a hooker or drag queen). Blend again.

6. Draw a thick line on your top eyelid with a pencil/liquid liner.

IPB Image

I drew it thicker in the middle to create a ‘cuter’ and rounder eyeshape.

IPB Image

IPB Image

7. Extend the line with the same liner until you’re satisfied. (i draw it until it’s the same length as the front part of my eyes *眼头*)

IPB Image

8. Draw your lower eyeline by connecting the end of your top line to the middle part of your eye.

IPB Image

9. Fill in the space with pencil liner or black e/s.

IPB Image
10. Use the same gold pigment or e/s to draw the front part of your lower eyeline. Blend it again.

IPB Image

11. Curl your lashes from the tip to the root (my style) or from root to the tip (common way).

IPB Image

12. Apply mascara. I apply 1 layer on the bottom part of my top lash, then I apply 1 more layer on the top part in the middle part only (for the cuter eye effect)

IPB Image

12. Apply concealer to mute out your lip colour.

IPB Image

13. Apply lipgloss as usual.

IPB Image

14. Take some of your gel blusher on your fingertip and tap it on the apply of your cheeks.

IPB Image

IPB Image

The higher you apply it, the younger you look. So don’t apply blusher too low unless you’re going for the sexy look.

IPB Image

15. Blend it in.

IPB Image

Pucker up and you’re done with it. Easy?

More of LE cosmetics & gift packs.

Monday, December 11th, 2006

Yes…I am back with more of the cosmetics gift packs since it’s drawing near Christmas now. I am sure a lot of people will be scratching their hairs out from their heads on what to buy as gifts. Don’t fret, Miss Lil Disaster So-Called-Know-It-All is here to help!

I was walking at KLCC just now & I saw Benefit’s Dallas Palette at Parkson. What attracted me to write about this gift set is that they can make you look like a million bucks. If I can look like a million bucks, I will never have to work again & pay with my look since I have a million bucks in my look.

So yes, back to the Dallas thingy…as from the Benefit booklet I took from the counter(I lost the one from CLEO), it’s an outdoor glow for the indoor gal! Benefit’s favorite pressed powder in sun-kissed rose is paired with opulent gold-flecked shades of pinks and browns for eyes and lips - to make you look like a million bucks. It makes me wonder now, how can shades of pink & browns make us look like a million bucks? I thought it was supposed to be gold shades or silver shades? I tried on the gold-flecked shades on at the counter but the gold-flecks are not enough to make onlookers realise it. But it’s still worth it though cause it’s just for RM155.

The palette includes: .05 oz eyeshadows in soft pink shimmer and soft plum shimmer and two .04 oz lip shines in plum shimmer and golden pink plus a 0.10 Dallas Powder (sunkissed rose) and brush and a dual ended applicator brush.

The next one that I would like to introduce(okay…I know a lot of you know bout this already) is the Benefit’s The best of Benefit. It consists of Benefit’s top three selling products namely Benetint, Badgal Lash & Dandelion(I tried this on & it’s superb! But it’s too expensive that I couldn’t afford it). But the thing that I love most is the description in the book:

Once upon a time, in the faraway land of Benefit, there lived three sweet & pretty beauties…one so flirty, she turned all cheeks to rosy flush. Another so perky, she brightened faces with her ballerina-pink prettiness. And the last, so sexy, she grabbed all the attention with her big, black lashes. Meet the best of benefit! From us to you….live gorgeously ever after!

How creative is that? Anyway, here’s the pic:

One of my personal favourite is this, the mini pink brush set(note=the brushes aren’t pink. only the purse is). Its is actually a purse-sized trifold case containing five essential brushes which are a brow brush/lash comb, blush brush, eyeshadow blender, crease brush, and lip brush. I found this at Sephora selling for $16. With the convertion rate of 3.8, it would be around RM60.80. Yes, would be a bit expensive. But to see the smile on your loved one’s face would be really priceless.

Stila lipglaze have been a big favourite to a lot of you here at MYB(& other places as well). So I decided to walkaround & saw this Stila - The Gift of Glaze at Parkson KLCC. It is a limited-edition mini lip glaze set. Notice the word mini as it’s not in full size. As boasted by Stila, this high impact shine plus subtle scent in a click-pen applicator, lip glaze is the best in gloss. Stila has selected six of their most beloved shades and created mini versions for holiday.

Package includes Vanilla (sheer champagne shimmer), Brown sugar (shimmering bronze), apricot (sheer peach), grapefruit (sheer pink), Starfruit (shimmering rose) and raspberry (sheer fuchsia).

That’s all for now.

Culture shock

Monday, December 11th, 2006

This is my first post in MYB Blog. Many of you are quite new to me I guess, I’m sorry I’m not better looking or active in the forum. If you’ve noticed the light blue avatar in the forum, I appreciate you for acknowleging my existance. I’m now in Shenzhen. So, when Shenzhen comes into your mind, what would you think of? Prostitute, illegal abortion and pirated stuffs?

Yes, I wouldn’t say no but these things aren’t applicable right here right now in my place. Everything that you’ve heard was only a minor part of Shenzhen, and the rest a very different perspective, from what I’ve observed. And from what I’ve observed, Shenzhen is full of tall buildings, working apportunities, cheap massages and people calling themselves “Lucy” or “Mary” in a mainland China slang. Teehee. In short, they’re quite up to date, as families with an average income would likely send their children to a private school, hoping them to learn English and get in pace with the globalization.

I’m staying in Shekou, 32th floor at a condo. It’s quite cool here, but will get cold by Christmas. The weather here now is like Genting, I have enough sunshine here. No rain as far as I’ve observed from the 9th of Dec. My skin gets dry, and my T-zone is damaged. Therefore a gentle reminder for all the MYB travelers, if you’re visiting a cold and dry country, take your face products along. You won’t want to look like a person who has incurable skin disease. Dear big kah chehs, please help this miserable lamb- me, my skin is gonna crack in no time.

Across the sea there we have Hong Kong. There’s a wide range of Hongkies. From cold blooded to hyperactive, but not somewhere in the middle. Something all of them have in common is their quick and fast reaction in doing anything. Even though the train waits for them they still have to walk in fast steps, and if you’re slow and you block their way they’ll stare or curse. Their expressions are most honest. Brutally honest. No personal attacks, but I seriously think they need to slow down. Chill a little maybe. I feel the stress they all have lol. I went to a Hong Kong shopping complex and I ordered a plate of Indian curry rice. It didn’t taste bad, but the price was really intolerable for me if I’d have it in Malaysia. You see, in Malaysia, we can indulge the nasi kandar plus lamb plus chicken plus sotong in a mere RM10 note in an Indian restaurant. But for here, I have to pay $45. No big chicken. No added curry. And an original CD album here costs about $110. The living status here is uber high.

I’m sorry I couldn’t express in form of pictures. But if there is, it’s expected that you’ll see tall, rapid buildings from the 32th floor view. The building lights from Hong Kong is breath-taking no doubt, but I guess you’ve seen much from pictures and movies. Guys here are quite trendy looking, no matter who he is. From rubbish collector, policeman, shop part time worker to the custom staff. They all look gorgeous to me. (:

I apologize for any typing error or grammar mistakes. Microsoft word here doesn’t seem to function properly, or I’m not used to read the computer in Chinese. Till then, I also apologize for the boring content.

Grooming tips for you and me

Monday, December 11th, 2006
  • Take care of your skin, wear moisturizer with SPF, drink more water, blah blah blah mantra… apply lotions religiously and keep your nails prim and proper. These tips applies to both gender. Girls, if you have no time to clean those chipped cutex, I suggest you save your time coloring them and give yourself a mask instead.
  • Keep hair in place and neat. No frizz, no flyaways. There is a reason why there are hundreds of hair products out there. Do not wear your hair wet when you go out. You’ll look like you’ve run out of the bathroom half done. Men appreciate women who take care of themselves. Guys, trim hair regularly and don’t forget shaving.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. Ladies!! Do not wear slippers, in transit to work, especially on a public transport. Spending so much of shoes, you WANT people to look at them, and your sexy legs. Save slippers, sandals for beach. And sport shoes only goes with gym attire. Guys, socks! Don’t forget them. Wear them with leather shoes and sports shoes, too.
  • Outfit for the right occasion. Be modest for official look (meaning – at work), don’t flash unnecessary skin, we want men to respect us for other brains, not other parts. If your job requires you to be creative, be creative, but don’t lose yourself. Dress according to your style and identity, not following others. Iron your shirt well, buttons in place, tuck in nicely – girls do not like guys to be frumpy. I think it is necessary for guys to wear singlets inside when wearing working shirts- give your body the built and not to mention – to conceal certain parts.
  • Invest in staple (read: must have) items. Girls – white shirt, great cutting pants, closed toes shoes (you’ll need it for formal occasions, although I do suggest all working females to wear these, not strappy heels, they are reserve for partying nites), GOOD FITTING BRA (and learn how to wear them correctly – no spillage, no falling straps) and invisible line panties . And you must take good care of them = lingerie detergent. Guys – leather shoes, pants, leather/steel watch, shirt, cuff links. Don’t blindly follow fads, it is good to have at least 2 pieces of latest trends, as long as it reflects the style identity you would like to potray. Plus it will save you lots of money each time a new trend replace another.
  • Make up! in European countries, make up is manners. BE subtle if you don’t like make up – lip color (balm with colors for those who hate lipsticks, gloss is not apporiapte for official), mascara, blusher. Unless you have perfect skin, with rosy cheeks and red lips, you should not skip this part. Guys, you can use make up too, there are make up line specially for guys which are not to create made up look, but to conceal your bad points and enhance your looks – as lip balm (dry and chapped lips are a big no-no!), tinted spf moisturizer. Try this to mattify oily skin.
  • Groom yourself! well. It is such an important aspect to make the lasting firm impression. Lastly check before leaving the house. Face – check. Outfit – check. Hair – check. Shoes – check.
  • Denim Bag

    Monday, December 11th, 2006

Hieee everyoneee … first time posting here *ahem*

I am not those who are good with cosmetics and stuff like that as I don’t even use them. Maybe just a lip gloss if you consider that as cosmetics. I shall leave that out and blog about other stuff instead yah.

I bought this bag quite some time ago, not to say it’s OLD ..just that it isn’t THAT new. As I heard this place which is called Lugano has the biggest shopping centre in Switzerland, I decided to have a look there. I went there, and no, Lugano does not have any shopping centre, instead it is located 20 minutes from Lugano, which is called Fox Town. Nearby Lugano, there’s another place called Olten which has many branded stuff there. It’s factories to be precise. They have like Bailey’s, Miss Sixty, Guess, and etc to name a few.

    denim bag

There, this is the bag I bought from the shop called Circus which cost me 40 CH (RM120). Alright, maybe we shouldn’t covert it? Haha … I like the denim material and the colour is different. I find that it’s unique compared to the normal black. It’s not too casual too, but of course it’s not formal that’s for sure. There are 2 pockets in front, and one zipped pocket in the inside. You can use it either by just holding it with your hands or just hang it on your shoulder, depends on yourself. Personally, I prefer to hold it.
That’s about it for now, til then see ya.

    I am back!

    Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Yes….I am finally back after my four days trip to Bangkok & I am already missing my shopping heaven. I wanna stay a bit longer there….but was taken back because I missed my home more than I miss Bangkok.

I stayed at Baiyoke Suite because Baiyoke Sky was fully booked & girls(and boys as well la) DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT stay in Baiyoke Suite because the facilities are way too old & the heater would be cold all of a sudden & you have to wait 5 minutes before it recovers back to hot(hopefully I will not get sued for saying this).

Remember to shop at Platinum Plaza as they boast to have more than 1300 wholesale shops(in which you have to buy at least three pieces in one shop to get wholesale price. Some do not let you mix & match with other designs. Some will but with condition that you add 10 to 20 baht). & yes, do stay at the Baiyoke area as that is the wholesale area(Platinum Plaza is just 5-10 minutes walk away from Baiyoke).

Try not to go for Suan Lum night market to buy stuffs as those stuffs they have there are from the wholesale area & they sell it at a higher price(which is double). Chatuchak is a nice place to go & it’s like triple the size of Mid Valley(of course Chatuchak doesn’t have four floors for you to shop la duh!). You can never finish walking within one day. The alleys there are closely packed with only merely two people can walk. That’s why Chatuchak is able to accomodate more than 10 thousand shops.

But Chatuchak is only opened on weekends as this is a weekend markets & they mostly do business with the locals. Therefore, stuffs there are almost the cheapest. Of course, the cheap stuffs there are like incense, candles, wood carvings & etc. Clothing, shoes & accesories are best to be bought at wholesale area. If you girls were to go there, please, please & please remember to wear tank tops, shorts, bring along a mini fan & clip up all your hairs. It’s freaking hot over there.

I noticed that the Thais love to eat roasted stuffs. They have roasted squids, roasted pig internal organs & etc. But those foods are very nice to be eaten. I love it there & the food is darn cheap. You can get a big packet of fried rice for only 10 baht(which is RM1). But you can hardly find bird nest & sharkfin(if you like them)at Bangkok(within the city area) unlike Hatyai that has it everywhere in the city.

But then again, the Thais in Bangkok close their shops earlier. Most shopping complexes & roadside shops are closed by 6 in the evening Bangkok time(which is 7PM Malaysian time). The night markets will be opened after 6PM Bangkok time. But usually, the night market sells the same thing as the wholesale shops but at a higher price.

I do notice that some of the shops in KL brough in clothes from Bangkok to sell. For example, I bought an empire-waisted top at Bangkok for RM30 & I saw the same top selling at Shopaholic(a shop at Bangsar if I am not mistaken)for RM89.90(in which I saw it today at FEMALE magazine).

The top that I bought from Bangkok

The one I saw at FEMALE mag December’s issue. It’s selling at RM89.90 at Shopaholics.

To see more of my shopping purchases, please go to Shopping Spree [December 2006] at MYB.

That’s all for now. Will update the LE + Christmas cosmetics pressies post soon! Till then.

    Your feel good songs.

    Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

Hi everyone, this is my first post and since everyone’s pretty much done the fashion thing already, I feel as though I should start with something I’m totally into.

Here are tracks that girls should consider as their personal anthem. Ditch the songs that make you bawl your eyes out, over the guys that broke your heart. It’s time for a lil self-esteem boost, girls! Throw those “Stick with you”, “Promise”, “Everytime we touch” tracks out the window, cos we don’t need men. Here’s a few feel good tracks I totally recommend, and nope, no lovey dovies! =3 Hope y’all enjoy it as much as I did writing it! ^^

    1) Girl next door - Saving Jane
So, we don’t have to be the prom queen or the most popular girl. Let’s just embrace who we are and love ourselves for us!

    2) Long way to go - Cassie
Confidence all the way. Show the guys that you don’t need them, and you’re not just any girl they can have. Cos you’re special. ;)

    3) I’m not missing you - Stacie Orrico
Uh-huh. Just like the title says, you’re not missing the guy who betrayed you, the guy who didn’t appreciate you. Get on with life, cos he’s not worth all the tears and heartbreak. You go, girl!

    4) Bossy - Kelis
Yeah, you show them that. You’re bossy, so let the world know things are going your way, and no other way. Guys love girls with confidence and a lil something something, but that don’t mean you gotta love them back. ;p

    5) Danity Kane - Showstopper
Cos girls are all you need, girlfriend! They’re there to back you up, guys walk in and out of your life but your girls have been there for you before he came, and they’re still there after he left.

    6) I belong to me - Jessica Simpson
This lady’s stepping out on her own. Stronger than ever. Kudos to her, and to the girls that has their hearts broken, take it from her. The world’s not over yet, so pull yourself together, and sing with her!

    7) Love Me Or Hate Me - Lady Sovereign
I’m loving the lyrics on this one. Let people know, you love yourself for who you are and you don’t give a flying toot whether they dig or don’t.

    8) Fergilicious - Fergie
How can this girl not make you wanna get up and dance? If you’re sayin’ she doesn’t have that magical touch that makes you feel good, then girl, you’re lying to yourself. She is the duchess, go grab a copy of her album if you haven’t already.

    9) My humps - B.E.P
The classics of girl power. Show the men what they can’t have, girrrl! And make them beg.

    10) I don’t need a man - PCD
No collection is complete without a PCD track. Let’s rock it like how these hot chicks do. It’s a perfect number to groove to, and the lyrics? Perfect. ;)

So what are you girls waiting, get them now! ^^
